Nashik Foodie's Meet Up at The Utsav Fine Dine Restaurant

This weekend was all about food. There was a lot of eating out, baking, ordering in food and basically a totally out of control calorie count situation. It ended perfectly with a foodie meetup over Sunday dinner. Organised by Justnashik.com and hosted by The Utsav Fine Dine Restaurant, it was a cool get together of food lovers. We exchanged notes about our favorite restaurants and small eateries around the city and savoured our food but not before clicking a picture of every dish because that's how we like it.

Here's our meet up photo diary!

Restaurant review- Hotel Samrat, Nashik

Ask any Nashikar who has been around since the 80's and they will tell you that Hotel Samrat has been a landmark ever since. Apparently the bus halted at Samrat during the good old days. The restaurant has been on the mind of residents since decades. And if you are wondering where exactly this restaurant is located then you are clearly a newbie in Nashik!

We had the vegetarian limited thali for lunch. The menu consisted of dum aloo, bhendi and dal with a bowl of rice and three piping hot phulkas. Priced at INR 120, it's total value for money. The format remains the same but the menu changes everyday. The food was delicious and one could tell that good quality ingredients went in the making. The quantity was just right for one person, if you are an average eater like me.

Vegetarian Limited Thali

A glass of buttermilk (INR 35) goes well with this thali.

Buttermilk, yes please!

Though I was full after the thali, I had to try the signature dish Paneer Pasanda. It is a rich gravy with paneer prepared in North Indian style. Absolutely delicious but if you want to go easy on the butter/oil, I will recommend you instruct accordingly while placing an order for this dish.

Paneer Pasanda!

Ice cream? One of each please!
Ambience is no frills and the place is clean and well maintained. Service was prompt and attentive. That's the trigger happy Samrat team.

Trigger happy!

If you are near the buzzing CBS ( Central Bus Station) area and need to grab a quick lunch, then Hotel Samrat is a good option. Considering you have vegetarian on your mind of course. And yes, they have parking space available too.
